Axillary
Hyperhidrosis

Neurotoxins are used in the underarm/ armpit area (axilla) for the treatment of excessive sweating.

Do you have abnormal sweating?

Do you sweat so much you often soak through your clothes and drip sweat, and find it embarrassing?

Regular deodorant / antiperspirants not working well?

You might want to consider a treatment session if you answered yes to any of these questions.

HOW IT WORKS

Neurotoxins work by blocking the nerves responsible for activating your sweat glands. Normally your nervous system activates your sweat glands when the body temperature rises. This is how the body cools itself. In people with hyperhidrosis, the nerves that signal the sweat glands are overactive. Underarm sweat glands consist of about 2% of the body’s sweat glands. Research shows results from using neurotoxins for treatment to control sweating in the underarms is about 82-87% effective, meaning you should see a decrease in sweating around 82-87% in your underarms/axilla.

When you receive neurotoxin injections directly into your axilla, your overactive nerves are essentially paralyzed. When the nerves can’t signal your sweat glands, you don’t sweat. Neurotoxins only prevent sweating in the areas treated.

WHAT ARE THE INJECTIONS LIKE?
The procedure takes less than one (1) hour. The neurotoxin is injected with a fine small needle just below the surface of the skin. You will receive several injections that form a diamond like pattern in each axilla. Ice can be applied to help with discomfort, however, most patients do not need this. You can return to your normal life right after treatment.

I ask you stop shaving 2-3 days prior to treatment.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE TREATMENT?

You can resume activities immediately after. You should start to notice a decrease in about 2-4 days, with full effect in 14 days. The effects of neurotoxins are temporary, which means you will need to maintain results with future treatments. Most people experience results from about six (6) months, with range from 4-12 months.

For many people it can drastically improve their quality of life.

Radiofrequency Microneedling

Radiofrequency microneedling can also be used for axillary hyperhidrosis. Radiofrequency microneedling can help cause deconstruction of the sweat glands under the arms. The destruction of the sweat glands is due to thermal tissue reaction. Even though most patients notice sweat reduction after 1 treatment, patient response to 3 treatments is excellent. A 3 treatment series is highly recommended. Treatments are spaced 4-8 weeks apart. Treatment takes less than 1 hour. Results appear noticeable within days after treatment, and full result will be achieved after 3 treatments.

This treatment produces somewhat permanent damage to sweat glands and is long lasting. Many patients find they do not require further treatment for years – if ever.

A series of 3 treatments is $1800. Financing is available with Cherry Financial
